Does The Very Thought Of Planning Make You Want To Clean Your House?
For some ‘Tis the season to be jolly’ however, for those of us who have chosen to set up our own Practice, ‘Tis the season to be planning for next year’
If the very thought of this makes you groan a little or it brings up the urge to clean your house from top to bottom or maybe you feel a dose of ‘mañana’ coming on, perhaps it’s time to find a new way to inject some excitement into your planning.
A good planning session needs a few key ingredients to get the party started; surrounding yourself with interesting, knowledgeable and inspirational people is a good start and the good news is you’ll find a whole selection of them hanging out over at You Tube, in the library and in book shops.
You get to pick and choose and there are no clashing schedules or bad coffee to worry about.
Since you’re going to be spoilt for choice, I’d like to suggest you begin by spending 20 minutes with a You Tube friend of mine by the name of Dr. Maria Sirois.
Because, as I’m sure you’ll agree, genuine success hinges upon us being true to ourselves and living our values which just happens to be the subject of this particular Ted talk.
Studies have shown that procrastination shows up when ‘our heart is not in it’ which could explain why we feel compelled to do anything and everything other than the One Thing we know we need to do…which in this instance is to plan for the year ahead.
So why not watch the video before letting your creative side take the lead as you try out a few possible options for a 2019 that bring a smile to your face .
Planning to create that kind of future reality will be a piece of cake.
